Your Best Career Decision Requires A “To-Feel” List

Allow your feelings to guide your career path.


I said no to an offer that paid twice what I was earning before.

It was a hard decision. Listening to my feelings terrified me. I needed the money, but the job felt wrong. I knew it was wrong. I was supposed to sell products I didn’t believe in. It meant working at a job that I didn’t find fulfilling. It involved working for a boss who saw me as a resource to spend and wanted to pay me begrudgingly instead of celebrating my unique abilities.

“You can do better than this,” a dear friend told me.

“But I don’t have anything else lined up,” I replied.

I took a week to decide and in the end, chose to have faith in what my friend said.

I realized that if I said yes, my soul would wither.
