One Book Explains How to Make Decisions Really Well

Choose enlargement over happiness.

Most of us, most of the time, make decisions based on what makes us happy at the moment. What our decision will bring to our lives, we don’t give it a thought. Maybe our decision will add something to our lives. Or maybe it diminishes us. Either way, when we make decisions, short-term happiness precedes long-term fulfillment.

Small or huge decisions, we want to be happy.

We don’t care about the consequences of our decision. About who we will become after 6 months or 6 years from now because of our decision. We just want to feel safe and comfortable at the moment. So if a particular decision feels great and makes us happy, we make a decision.

This is where we fail.
