Hanging out with my nurse friend, drinking red wine on her beautiful porch, is one of the many things I stopped doing since March 2020. I no longer meet friends for tea or coffee. My partner and I do not eat dinner in restaurants. I don’t stand in front of my students and teach. I don’t visit my mom every weekend. I don’t meet clients in person. I don’t go to the grocery shop every day.
These days, I do less of the things I used to do. Even though I’m tempted to do many things every day, I force myself to do less. It’s a daily battle. Since the pandemic started shattering our world, we cannot fixate on getting more things done.
Right now, we do not make our world a better place by trying to overachieve. Because that is spreading the virus.
