Did You Know?

If you’re wondering about the meaning of my name—Banchiwosen—and you search for its meaning in English you won’t find one. In Ethiopia, we have an Amharic alphabet. To write our names in English we use letters from the English alphabet, a combination of consonants and vowels close to the sound of our names in Amharic. I love that I get to tell this to people (who are not Ethiopians) who ask me about my name.
