Not in the Same Basket
June 18, 2018 by Banchiwosen Woldeyesus
Any time of the day,
We put human beings in the same basket,
We are erring in so many ways,
In so many levels.
Something that is impossible to be,
We enforce all beings to behave in a particular way,
Expecting foolishly,
For them to conduct themselves,
And think like us.
The work of trying to alter other people’s personality is another thing.
We try in futile to enforce our attitudes,
Our feelings,
Our personalities,
And our thoughts on others.
By willfully forgetting that others have those things on their own,
With their own choice.
Just like we do.
Any time of the day,
We put human beings in the same basket,
We are being enemies of nature,
By going against what is natural and beautiful.
Trying not to see all the different things,
That will be found in every human being,
We miss that thing,
That can only be found in that being.
Oh, but we do not stop there do we?
We go further and try to mold others,
According to our wish.
We do all kinds of things to make people,
Think like us,
Behave like us,
Be like us.
Making them exactly like material things that we buy,
And failing spectacularly in the process.
And we scream in frustration,
Because all our effort and energy has been wasted in vain,
And we do not see what we wished to see.
We see only,
What was before and only more of ‘I am like this and every other being is like that’.
Just wonder if someone could put the notion in our head:
There is no such thing as uniformity in human beings,
The gist of human beings cannot be put in one box and
The knowing of a person is endless just like unfolding a flower.
