Fate of message in a disagreement

  Message is travelling a long road trying to reach its destination without being lost. It has become tired of the journey. Being created and started living in a person is a great novelty. Going to one person and being part of that person is a joy to watch. What is more enjoyable is the person trying to deliver the message to another human being or beings.

All this is great. Message is in awe of humans. Once a person holds a firm hand on a particular idea, he does everything he can to deliver his message to others. The other person does the same thing to his idea and so on. When message is being sent from one to another, if it is the same as the other end then everything is a fertile ground to the message.

Because one person gives the message to others and the others add to the message as their idea is in agreement with the first person who spoke the message. In this case everyone is happy. Sender of the message is happy because it is being sent to the other end properly. It is also being incremented in quality and quantity because the other end has contributed and added to the message since they basically agree with it.

Receiver of the message is happy because what is being delivered is what he already believes in and thinks of. The message is very happy because it is being delivered to the correct address like it is supposed to without being lost in the air. The other end has acquired it.

Not only that, while being delivered, it is being beautified because both sides are contributing to it. The problem arises when there is disagreement about the message among participants in communication arena. And this happens all the time. In fact, the smooth delivery of message among people is an exception. Message finds itself in that position only once in a while. That is why, it has become tired of the journey.

Usually message encounters a contradictory position to itself when it is being delivered. One person talks of his idea to the other side. And the other side is in complete contrast to the idea being delivered or at the very least doesn’t agree on it. Hence message is lost because everyone is too wrapped up in their own message and only that.

This happens, not because one side entertains a different idea and try to deliver that message and vice versa, but because one side cannot and will not simply accept the fact that the other side do not agree with them and they have their own message to deliver. Unfortunately message has encountered similar situations wherever it goes.

Thus, message is disappointed in humans. He sees all the wonderful things that are made by humans. And yet, they have not grasped the notion that they can listen to messages being delivered without accepting and believing it.

Message believes Aristotle said it best when he said “It is the mark of an educated mind to be able to entertain a thought without accepting it” and another philosopher has said it wonderfully “I vehemently disagree with what you say, Sir – but I would fight, if necessary risking my life, for your right to say it”.
