I would define intelligent people by all the things they are not doing.
Intelligent people have no desire to control others. They are propelled by their own strength and self-control.
They are not:
Negative.
Afraid of their own company.
Just talkers.
Thinking about what to say next when they converse with others.
Figuring out how to manipulate and convince people into their way of thinking.
Trying to get out of difficult situations.
Judging.
Intelligent people are just open-minded.
Many of times, they ask questions, not to be redundant or difficult but to better understand situations and most of all to learn.
That is how intelligent people give you their best by being the best.
They adapt to situations quickly than others.
I believe Mahatma Gandhi was right when he said:
“Adaptability is not imitation. It means power of resistance and assimilation.”
Intelligence was never about being this powerful person whom everyone is afraid of.
It is the ability and willingness to show modesty to others.
And the will to empathize with people.
And being curious.
“I have no special talents. I am only passionately curious.” Albert Einstein
And being optimistic.
“When we are happy – when our mindset and mood are positive – we are smarter, more motivated, and thus more successful. Happiness is the center, and success revolves around it.” Shawn Achor
Those who choose to listen to others, who have high self-control and who have a strong desire to help others are better people who change themselves and the world.
Those who choose not to, will remain not intelligent.
