By not expecting “the change” to come from the outside

We make change harder than it has to be because we expect the outside world to make us change. Our external environment will always have an influence on us. But it does not bring a change in us – unless we decide to change.

Ask yourself:

Why do you keep insisting on doing the same thing when it doesn’t work? Why do you keep doing that?

We expect things to be a certain way, and we are crushed when it doesn’t happen.

We suffer when we expect others to think and feel like we do and we find out every time that they have their own mind.

The solution isn’t to find out ways to change others in a better and strategic way. Your change does not come from the outside.

The solution is to accept that there are some things that you just cannot control – like others (their ideas, opinions, views, and feelings).

“If you don’t like something, change it; if you can’t change it, change the way you think about it.” Mary Engelbreit

You.
