Nothing teaches us more than failure in life. Nothing. - Learn to See the Forest Through The Trees - Inspirational Lesson

We start something. We get excited. Somewhere along the way, we stop pursuing that thing as the journey becomes difficult.

We give up on that thing.

We failed.

We start with a beautiful relationship in our heart that we hold in a precious grip. Somewhere along the way, we stop communicating as we used to or we decide it is not worth to improve the relationship anymore.

We give up on the relationship.

We failed.

We start a new habit. We promise ourselves we will never stop building this habit. Somewhere along the way, the road becomes too difficult. We return back to our old habits.

We give up on the new habit.

We failed.

We strive to have a positive mindset all the time. We say goodbye to our negative thoughts. We say no more worrying, complaining, anger, feeling sorry for ourselves, blaming others. We fight to keep these good thoughts in us. Somewhere along the way, we are tempted to go back on our word. Someone makes us angry. Someone hurts us. Someone abandons us. Our job fails us. So, we give up on our positive thoughts somewhere along the way.

We give up on being positive.

We failed.

We start a new job with amazing energy. We start our own business with every enthusiasm in the world. We start learning a new thing determined to be an expert on it. We start something, anything. And then, somewhere along the way, we quit. Either because it is too hard, or because it takes too long to reach our goals, or because we are accustomed to being comfortable.

We give up on anything that we start.

We give up on seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

We failed.

We promise ourselves we will be better learners. We pledge to be open to others and to learn from others. We say goodbye to our ego that is preventing us from becoming a better person. But, along the way our old habits call us. They tempt us to fall back. And we start giving in somewhere along the journey.

We fall back to an attitude that says: “I already know that”.

We become servants of our ego again.

We let ego get to our head.

We forget that this attitude does more harm than good.

We failed.

We get excited over an idea. We get enthusiastic over a new adventure.  We learn something. We get inspired. We read a book and promise ourselves to follow the example from it. We set our goals. We set our plans.

But we do not take action.

We forget that our life will never change unless we take action.

We failed.

When we fail, we find it hard to recognize its importance in our lives.

We can’t see the forest through the trees.

We do not see the big picture because we are seeing only the failure in front of us.

But, that’s just what we have to do.

“It is okay to fail. But it’s not okay to give up.”

When we disappoint ourselves, when we fail at something when we get unexpected problems, when we got beat, when we fall back to our old ways, when we got tapped out, when life throws its punch at us repeatedly, ——

We should never give up. Ever.

Every setback is there to teach us something.

Every disappointment is there to strengthen us.

Every failure is there to lead us into a road that leads to achievement.

C. S. Lewis said it best:

“Failures are fingerprints on the road to achievement.”

There is a lesson in every failure.

There is an advantage to every disadvantage.

We just have to change our state of mind that sees failure as an enemy that is there to attack us and make us helpless.

Read what the renowned author of ‘Harry Potter series’ J. K. Rowling said on the subject:

“It is impossible to live without failing at something unless you live so cautiously that you might as well not have lived at all, in which case you have failed by default.”

Failure is an important part of our lives.

In fact, it is more than that. It is necessary.

Whether they are big failures or small failures, we must recognize that without them we will never achieve anything worthwhile.

Even if your failures are too big and they have rocked your world, completely altering the landscape of your relationships, finances, and mental well-being –choose to learn from them and see them as stepping stones to a better life.

Nothing teaches us more than failure in life. Nothing.

So, be a student and learn from it.

In the end, you can go on resenting failure as long as you like. If you want you can run around for the next 10 decades turning your back on failure or running away from it.

Or you can look failure in the eye and decide to pass through (no matter how painful it is). You can choose to put your energy and effort to learn from every setback.

The choice is yours.
